- Went to college to be an English teacher at the secondary level but when I graduated there were no jobs available. So I got a job in my minor, library science, and at the elementary level, which I didn't think I wanted to teach. Boy, have things changed in that field! I love the challenge of my job, but not the frustration of not being where I'm needed all the time. I wish our field got more respect from the community and from the school administrators, many of whom have very little knowledge of what we do.
Sometimes it is difficult to figure out exactly what to post. And yet other times, things flow easily.

I like the serenity prayer as well. It is a great guide when I am worried about something. I just ask myself if there is another action I can take about any given situation. If there isn't, I wait to see what happens next!
ReplyDeleteNew year, new decade something new to learn. I like your thoughts. I like the time we are going to have to learn something new. I usually have to try to learn it to teach someone else and I never really get to explore as much as I like.
ReplyDeleteBoy, isn't that the truth, Book Lady! We the untrained trainer have to learn something new on our own so we can teach someone else quicker than we learned it. Then we hit a snag, can't figure out what's wrong, and feel like fools. Oh, well, it keeps the mind young, right?

ReplyDeleteAnd I guess your comment is why Library Media people try to make the technology "stuff" look so easy to so many. We've sweated out the mistakes and false starts among ourselves. It's almost like we can't/don't want to let the rest of the pack see our weaknesses.
